The IntenSati Fitness Revolution is Here: Calling All Leaders!

With 26 years in the wellness industry, I am proud to be a part of a field that provides people with ways to improve their lives, well-being and self awareness.

In 2003, I introduced my new workout program, intenSati, to ECA and Equinox Fitness. IntenSati is a revolutionary workout fusing high-energy aerobics, martial arts, dance, yoga, and strength conditioning. Combining spoken affirmations with simple choreography, intenSati provides a heart- pumping, exhilarating workout that builds physical, mental, and spiritual muscle. It is fitness at its highest efficiency and empowerment--physically challenging and spiritually empowering.

I started exploring the mind-body connection at a very early age with my father, who was a big fan of the power of the mind. The following two experiences encapsulate the powerful connection between body and mind and its role in my life. When I was 12 years old I had a bone marrow in my right arm that was spreading to my heart. After two weeks in the hospital the doctors performed exploratory surgery and, there was a possibility that they’d need to amputate my arm. The night before the surgery my father came into my room and guided me through a meditation. He told me to envision an army of men marching into my arm, cleaning out the infection, patching it up and marching out. The next day the infection was gone.

A few years later my father took my sister and I to a workshop called Silva mind control. Silva mind control taught us to reach a meditative state of mind and imagine what we wanted to do and who we wanted to be. I wasn’t involved in the fitness industry yet, but my sister and I put this technique to the test. We each did the exercise and imagined ourselves doing 100 push-ups at a time. We then found a corner in the hotel and started to do push-ups. We were amazed at the ease in which we performed 100 push-ups without a break.

Many of my personal experiences have led me to believe that there is so much more we could be teaching in our fitness classes. Further studies in meditation, life-coaching, and the Law of Attraction confirmed this for me. When I got the urge to develop a new workout, I wanted to integrate these elements and train my students to be aware of the impact of positive and negative and thought patterns. I was inspired to use affirmations in the workout after marching on the beach with Anthony Robbins while he encouraged us to shout out “all I need is within me now.” IntenSati was born.
